Reviewing: Candi’s Creative Sweets

June 13, 2017

Have I told you guys how much I love reviewing products? Especially when those products include cheesecake and cookies?

Well that’s just what Candi’s Creative Sweets sells: Cheesecake and cookies.

Offering a rotating selection of homemade cookies and cheesecakes, the flavors change based on seasons and holidays.

First, let’s start off with the cheesecake.

I had the chance to try samples of five varieties, including:

  • Black Forest
  • White Chocolate Raspberry
  • Mexican Brownie Bottom
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Irish Car Bomb

Just when I thought the PB&J was going to win my heart, the Mexican Brownie Bottom cheesecake swooped in and stole the number one spot. When it comes down to it, this one was totally up my alley. I mean, if I can add brownie to all desserts, I think it has a way of making everything better.

Yeah.

The actual cheesecake filling has some cinnamon in it to add a bit of warmth to the batter and to compliment the chocolate crust. It was really good and a must-try in my opinion.

On to the cookies!

I tried the following varieties:

  • White Chocolate Raspberry Cream Cheese
  • Dark Chocolate Guinness Cookie
  • Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip (GF)
  • Rosemary Butter
  • Butterscotch Toffee
  • Key Lime Coconut White Chocolate Chip

Between cheesecake and cookies, I’d say I probably lean more towards cookies only because they’re easier to snack on and eat multiples of. So naturally I had a few favorites out of this bunch.

For a butter cookie, the Rosemary Butter was really well done. It was buttery (that’s a given) but the rosemary added such a nice savory element to it.

The Butterscotch Toffee was ahhhhmazing. The pockets of melted dark chocolate in the cookie made it all that much better.

Finally, the Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip which just happened to be gluten free. I know people hear gluten free and freak out, but hear me out. This was a dark chocolate cookie (YASS) with pockets of salted caramel and chocolate chips. It was crispy and crunchy and sweet and salty and basically everything I love about a cookie. And it was gluten free. BOOM.
