Showcase of Homes Chefs Event – Recap

September 21, 2013

This weekend has been a crazy one, but I didn’t forget to write up a little something on the Showcase of Homes Chefs Event that took place last night!

With so many homes in so many different locations, I naturally wasn’t able to get to them all, but here are a few of my highlights from the event:

Sperry’s – Duck sausage sliders

These sliders were really outstanding, and I think they did a great job choosing what to serve to people because when food is sitting out for a while, it stops looking as pretty. This sample, however, looked great and tasted even better!

Cafe Capriccio – Ragu with polenta

Although the appearance didn’t look super appetizing, this sample rocked it. Not only that, but they were also offering a pumpkin nutella bread pudding, which totally stole the show. It was moist, the texture was spot on and nutella and pumpkin? Enough said.

Lakeridge – 7-hour braised short ribs

Have you ever had the braised short ribs from Lakeridge? If you haven’t, you should probably try them. So of course, everyone who visited the showcase home where they were set up were lucky enough to taste a little of these heavenly short ribs! Tender, juicy and just full of flavor.

I thought this event was a great opportunity for local restaurants to showcase their incredibly talented chefs at incredibly beautiful homes around the area. Can’t wait until next year!
