Need Breakfast? Look No Further Than Triangle Diner

November 8, 2012

A few weeks back, there was a post on Twitter about how there really aren’t any great breakfast places in Saratoga Springs. Each one serves its purpose, but there’s not one that I’d really suggest going to over another. Well that was until I started eating at Triangle Diner.

I guess the thought of going to Triangle Diner was never really something I thought about when I was younger, and Compton’s became my go-to breakfast spot because it’s the type of place that fits into a college girl’s budget and is right downtown. About two months ago, I suggested to my family that we go to Triangle Diner. The owners of the place are incredible people and I actually went to high school with the owner’s daughters, which makes me even more angry with myself that I didn’t visit the place more when I was younger.

I entered the diner on a busy Sunday morning with a hearty appetite. After a short wait, I looked at the menu and looked online, because sometimes I like to see what other people have eaten and feel the need to talk about after. I noticed that on Yelp, there were rave reviews about the french toast club, but at the time I didn’t really understand the concept. For some reason I couldn’t put two and two together and figure out that it was a club sandwich, not an actual club that I could join just because I was a fellow french toast lover.

I ordered the sandwich anyway, and it was the best decision I think I’ve ever made.

That beauty has three layers of maple french toast, a layer of scrambled eggs with American cheese, a layer of sausage and a layer of bacon. Um…. seriously? When I took my first bite, I looked up and proclaimed that it was the best thing I had ever eaten. I’m not even kidding, this is the most incredible breakfast sandwich EVER.

Let me break this down for you guys. You know when you have french toast on your plate with the scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage and the syrup from the french toast gets onto the meat and then also seeps into the eggs to add a little sweetness and you don’t even care because it’s delicious? This sandwich is 100 times better than that. My only complaint is that they don’t make this in a half portion because this beast is big. After just half I was stuffed like a teddy bear. Yupp, I did just say that.

Go to Triangle Diner and never look back, Saratogians. Do it for me and do it for yourself.
