Battle of Hibachi: Kinjo vs. Duo

November 17, 2016

Kinjo

Saratoga recently made huge progress in the Hibachi world – adding not one but TWO hibachi restaurants to the area.

I’ve been to both Duo hibachi and Kinjo, and based on the experiences I had at both, I personally think that Kinjo has the better set up. I enjoyed the chef more, I found the ambiance to be a little more comfortable and exciting, and the service was overall better.

HOWEVER – I did go to Duo on a weeknight, and they had a few large parties but sat us anyway. The problem was, we waited for like 30 minutes before the chef even came over to our table, which was a bummer. Had we known, we probably would have left… but they didn’t tell us it was going to be a wait until we had already been seated and ordered drinks.

The bonus for Duo is that they give you both rice AND noodles, which I suppose for some could be the deciding factor. I personally am for hibachi rice all day every day, so the noodles aren’t necessary. But to each his own!

Now I’m asking you guys… have you been to both? Do you have an argument for either side?

I haven’t been to the hibachi part of either restaurant, but I have eaten at both and I must say that my friends and I all agree that Kinjo was much better. The prices, the portions and the flavors were all fantastic.

Big fan of Kinjo. Have been close to a dozen times since they opened. Have not tried the hibachi because not my thing, but the other dishes are high quality and beautifully presented across the board.
